Welcome to the Jeanette Hunt Animal Shelter

located in Blair, Nebraska!

Our Mission:

To serve the citizens of Washington County, Nebraska and the surrounding areas by promoting:

• the humane treatment of companion animals

• helping reduce the number of injured and euthanized animals

• increasing pet adoptions

• supporting a safe and sanitary animal shelter

• educating the community about responsible pet ownership

The Friends of the J.H. Animal Shelter was started to assist the Jeanette Hunt (Blair) Animal Shelter in providing for the needs that are above and beyond the City’s budget.

Some of those needs include:

• medical care for the animals

• networking with other rescue groups to increase adoptions

• work towards a low euthanasia rate

• fundraise for special projects

• promote responsible pet ownership

• spay/neuter programs 

The current goal is to build adjoining dog runs and funds are being raised for that purpose.

We are currently in need of the following donations:

• Dry Dog Food

• Wet and Dry Cat and Kitten Food

• Vacuum (used is fine)
